Were you looking for information about Syphilis? Sifilis is a common misspelling of syphilis.
Syphilis is a sexually transmitted disease. It is caused by a bacterium called Treponema pallidum and is transmitted through direct contact with a syphilis sore, which may occur on the external genitals, vagina, anus, or in the rectum. The disease can be transmitted during vaginal, anal, or oral sex. Treatment options will depend on the stage of disease, what symptoms are present, and the person's age and general health. Penicillin is the preferred drug used to treat syphilis at all stages.
